What is Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)?

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes a range of tools, systems and strategies that support communication for people who have difficulty using spoken language. AAC can supplement speech or be used as a primary form of communication, empowering individuals to communicate in ways that work best for them.

AAC supports communication across everyday environments and can be used by people of all ages.

Who Uses AAC?
